The Zan Twins

Zanele and Zandile Salukazana are a well-known pair of dancers in the Cape Town music scene. The twins and I had a shared dream to make something together, and after a coffee in Obs things fell into place. Soon we were standing in the shallows of Kalk Bay, makeup done over an Olympia pastry by Khanyisa Buthelezi. She waited on the beach, covering her face with a scarf to block the harsh midday sun, while the twins and I admired the schools of tiny fish that swirled around their feet. The location was a site of spiritual rebirth for the twins, and even though the ocean is not visible in the image, it was the reason it came into being.
